We know what you may be thinking... What the heck is an Aussie Bernedoodle?! Aussie Bernedoodles, popularly known as Australian Mountain Doodles, are a unique hybrid of Poodle, Bernese Mountain Dog, and Australian Shepherd. Unlike multigenerational "Australian Mountain Doodles," Dreamdoods offers first-generation Aussie Bernedoodles, making them a pioneering breeder in Canada. Part of the reason we have elected to call ours the "Aussie Bernedoodle" is precisely because we have them as first and second generation thereby maintaining the integrity of the three parent breeds which can be seen in the traits and physical characteristics of the puppy.
Path 1 - F1 | 50% Poodle, 25% Bernese, 25% Australian Shepherd
Path 2 - F1b | 62.5% Poodle, 12.5% Bernese, 12.5 Australian Shepherd.
Aussie Bernedoodle are known for their low-shedding, hypoallergenic coats, high intelligence, and trainability. Their physical appearance often includes a sturdy build, wavy or curly coat, floppy ears, and round eyes. Their temperament is typically balanced,, highly intelligent, and affectionate making them the most sought after Doodle for service. Dreamdoods currently offers first and second generation medium and standard sized Aussie Bernedoodles.
Looks
Aussiebernedoodles are a color packed hybrid thanks to their Australian Shepherd, Bernese Mountain Dog and Poodle ancestry. Aussiebernedoodles can have a striking resemblance to Aussiedoodles and Bernedoodles alike. There is truly no way to predict the exact markings even with good knowledge of the color traits the parents carry because of all the colors at play.
Most of our Aussiebernedoodles will be Tri coloured however, you can expect coats to be expressed in merle, phantom, brindle and sometimes tuxedo but most importantly you can expect beauty in color! When it comes to fur texture and appearance it will depend on the doodle generation / amount of poodle. For example a second generation Aussiebernedoodle will have more a more curly coat texture and look.
