All About Bernedoodles
A novel doodle hybrid, the Bernedoodle is a cross between the Bernese Mountain Dog and a Poodle. Often described as the "best of both worlds", the hybrid blends the sweet, mellow and charming nature of the Bernese with the sociability, wits, and sense of humor of the poodle. Bred to be the perfect family pet, the Bernedoodle is a companion dog through and through. They are just as happy hiking fun trails as they are cuddling on the couch with their humans. Bernedoodles are low to non-shed and may be ideal for households with allergies. What's more, Bernedoodles are cold weather tolerant; must be the mountain dog in the mix!
Goofy and incredibly affectionate, Bernedoodles are especially fond of children and love the attention of their humans. To experience the Bernedoodle in her full capacity, early socialization and positive reinforcement training is needed so that she is just as friendly to other people too!
Looks
A traditional looking Bernedoodle will have similar markings to the Bernese Mountain dog (black, tan, white). However, due to the Poodles versatility in color, Bernedoodles too can range in color. While their markings are usually expressed in Tri color, Bernedoodles can also be a solid color, Bicolor (ie, black and white), or an assorted mix of colors! Coat patterns can be Merle, Phantom, Tuxedo and Brindle.
Like any other doodle, fur texture and appearance will depend on the percentage or amount of Poodle in the mix. Bernedoodles, especially in larger sizes are majestic and sturdy looking. One of our personal favorite part of the Bernedoodle puppy face are those thick bushy tan brows like Enzo here!
